DNA sequencer

A device for translating and reading DNA base sequences extracted from cells. The figure below is a schematic diagram of a DNA sequencer. The separated DNA pieces are combined with specific fluorescent markers and injected as pigments (labeled pigments) into the colloid of the swimming plate, and after electrophoresis, they will sink in the colloid. When the scanning line scans the DNA sheet, only the part with the marked pigment emits fluorescence due to the excitation by the laser. The fluorescence is detected by a photomultiplier tube through a spectroscopic filter, and the position of the fluorescent light is calculated by a computer, and the location of the specific fluorescent base can be distinguished. DNA sequencer is used in biological genetics research, research on genetic diseases, tumors, infectious diseases, diagnosis and treatment of geriatric diseases, translation and reading of genetic genes, etc.
